Question:
When is the entry deadline for the competition?

Answer:
The Canteen Rescue grant scheme will close on 25/2/11. Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis on the last day of each month. If your bid is unsuccessful, your entry will be re-opened so that you can review, amend and re-submit it the next month if you wish.

Question:
How many people should there be in a team?

Answer:
You can have as many or as few people in your team as you like, as long as you have the support of a lead teacher. However, to improve your chance of success, it might help to think about choosing people who are good at different things, e.g.artist, mathematician, architect, researcher, director/photographer and writer. See 'Pick your team' for more details.

Answer:
All entrants will be alerted of the outcome of their bid entry within 5 weeks

Question:
How many times can my school register?

Answer:
Your school can register as many times as you like, but each individual can only register once. Your school can only ever have one bid under consideration at any one time. If your bid is unsuccessful, your entry will be re-opened to allow you to amend and re-submit, or a new bid can be created and submitted by a different registrant.

Question:
Where, when and how will I get my log-in and password details?

Answer:
If you would like to take part, you will need to nominate a lead teacher to register you. They will be sent your log-in and password which you’ll need to submit your bid entry.

Question:
What do I do if I forget my password?

Answer:
If you forget your password, click on the ‘Forgotten password’ link under the log-in box. Complete the details and your log-in details will then be emailed to your team’s lead teacher. Please note you’ll need to enter the email address that your teacher registered with.

Can we have more than one log-in and password assigned to our entry?

Answer:
No. Each teacher registration will receive one log-in and password that can be used to upload one entry.

Question:
What happens once my teacher has registered?

Answer:
Once a registration has been successfully processed your teacher will be sent the team log-in and password. As soon as they have this you’re ready to start working on your bid!

Answer:

Question:
Other than my teacher, is anyone else allowed to help with my entry?

Answer:
You should get as much input and feedback as you can from the rest of your school – teachers, caterers and other pupils are all fair game! Other people’s points of view will help feed your creative ideas, and winning support from the rest of your school is part of the Entry Criteria.

Question:
What do I need to enter?

Answer:
To take part, all entrants must provide the following information as their bid entry: o What’s the main issue in your canteen? - identify what the main area of concern in your canteen is. o How do you know this is the issue? - describe the process you used to highlight the problem area and what you’ve done to gather feedback from the whole school. o What solution have you found to solve the issue? - use the Ideas Zone to identify the best solution to your canteen’s problem. Describe how your solution will tackle the issue and explain how the changes will benefit the canteen, your fellow pupils, caterers and the teachers who use it. o How much will your solution cost? How much cash are you bidding for? - find out how much the solution you’ve identified will cost and then bid for the amount (up to £10,000). o Upload an image of your canteen - include an image of your current canteen with your bid entry.

Can I preview my entry before I submit it?

Answer:
No. Once you have submitted your bid, it will be sent straight to School Food Trust.
